Congratulations! You’ve decided to elope. Now let’s talk about why an Arizona elopement might be the perfect spot for you and your love.
Arizona can be mostly associated with lots of desert views, but there are SO many amazing state and national parks with lots of different scenery. If you’re going for a desert vibe, look no further! But I should mention the beautiful forests, canyons, and mountains that Arizona has to offer.
So where do we start?
Why you should consider Arizona:
We’ve already touched on the beautiful sceneries that Arizona has to offer, but let’s talk about the weather! Arizona sees about 300 sunny days a year. This means you will very likely have amazing weather for your elopement!
The summer months can be BRUTAL so eloping from Fall-Spring is literally ideal. You truly can’t ask for anything better! With the sunshine and beautiful temperatures.. it’s a no-brainer to consider Arizona.
Here’s what you will need:
Each state has different requirements for marriage and elopements. In Arizona, you will need a marriage license, an officiant, and 2 witnesses! As your photographer, I can count as 1 witness.. so you’ll only need one other person!
You can get a marriage license the same day and this will cost you $83 (in June of 2022).
If you’re wanting to get married and have a more elaborate elopement at a beautiful state park, like Red Rock, Alamo Lake, or Lost Dutchman then you will need to fill out an application form. You can find all of that information on the Arizona State Parks website here.
If you choose to get married at a National Park in Arizona, you will need to get a special use permit. After you’ve got your permits, officiants, and witnesses… you’re good to go!
