So you’ve decided to elope and you’re looking for some unique elopement ideas? Have no fear! I have plenty of ideas up my sleeve 🙂
Elopements are so special and so intimate, and they can be completely 100% customized. You can go on a massive hike to a beautiful location, you can decorate your backyard, or just head to a courthouse. Whatever you want to do, we can make it happen. So let’s talk ideas…
- An elopement can be 1 day or an entire weekend/week-long experience! You can pick the destination and rent out a cute AirBNB big enough for the 2 of you or your whole family! Thes elopements can consist of hikes, renting out a car and trekking up a mountain, getting in some water, helicopter rides to an amazing waterfall.. the possibilities are endless!
I love when elopements last two days. You can pick a place for an intimate ceremony with just you two and then celebrate the next day or that evening with your family back at a AirBNB! - Pick a destination that is significant or beautiful to you. Maybe you and your partner met on a beach in Italy and you want to elope there. Maybe you’re from a different state and would like to elope on the opposite coast. Choosing a location with meaning makes it even more special. Just tell me the place and I’ll be there!
- Bring your favorite people with you! Just because you’re eloping doesn’t mean you have to be alone. Grab your parents, grandparents, closest friends, pets and bring them along for the journey. You can have it as big or small as you’d like. It’s your day so do what YOU want to do!!
- Incorporate some traditional things if you want to! Just because you’re eloping doesn’t mean you have to ditch all of the other traditional stuff. You can have a first look, cut some cake, have a first dance… as long as it’s something that’s meaningful to you, it will be beautiful.
- Create a memorable experience with each other! You can go skydiving, swimming, hiking, boating, horseback riding. Even hanging with your dogs, chilling in front of a bonfire and making s’mores under some twinkle lights. Make this day or weekend about you and your love.
- Bring a bluetooth speaker and have your first dance on a beach, in a forest, or on top of a cliff! This makes for some great memories and it’s so incredibly intimate. I love playing music during photoshoots and this is a great way to throw some traditions in there too!
Eloping can have cake cutting, champagne popping, star-gazing, bonfires, sparklers, dogs, family. Dream up a big, magical, day and we’ll make it happen.
If you’re on the fence about eloping.. I’m always going to recommend it. The stress, the adventure, the memories. It’s all so worth it. If you’re worried about people getting sad about not being a part of your day, you can always plan a big reception party later on!
